I DIDN'T BOTHER WITH ADDING A PLAY AND REPLAY BUTTON, SO IF IT DOESN'T LOAD, RIGHT-CLICK AND CLICK "PLAY" ONCE OR TWICE

I also uploaded this on YouTube, but due to the fact that I had to resize the original footage to make it "HD", the quality went way down. :I I've learned my lesson from this though, and (hopefully) I'll be able to produce legitimately HD vids.

☼ About the Artwork:

This was my final for my Compositing (After Effects) class. We were only required to make a 10 - 15 second video using the stuff we learned this term. Which, unfortunately, wasn't as much as it could have been since the school was on strike for a few weeks and they kept closing down the school on the days I had this class. :'C

I picked animating a drawing made in Flash over editing live action footage simply because I fail at acting and camera work. I also wanted to try working with my artwork this way as an experiment, as I want to use these skills in my drawn and MapleStory (series) animations. ;D

☼ About the Character:

The character used in this video belongs to me. c: You can't see much of her, but she's my newest original Invader Zim fan character. Her species is actually a revamp and a combination of two older alien species I designed. I have yet to name her though. xD

Ah yes, after effects. Great for composition, but not the best when it comes to compression rate. That's why I use Sony Vegas, fast and no quality or frame loss, despite how stupid the idea sounds.

Is that so? That's not a bad idea, actually. o: I'm willing to use any program that can handle exporting/compressing videos better than AE. Plus, I know a lot of people who could teach me how to use SV. : D

Though, it has one slight drawback. It has limited effects. D:

I was thinking of using AE for all the compositing stuff, then export the footage as lossless. So then I could just import it into SV and the re-export it so that it would be You-Tube friendly? o:

I've never tried that before, but sure, give it a shot!
And I strongly recommend for you to find an mp4 format, it's the BEST extension around for videos.

Thanks for the advice! I've been using movs recently, as I'm familiar with the codecs and settings for that. Hopefully I'll have some better luck with SV and mp4s. : D

Hopefully, newgrounds will soon release a swf to mp4 converter that does it in minutes, in HD, and with no frameloss!

WHOA WHAT. Are they really? I never would have heard of that unless you told me, since I don't have a newgrounds account. oAo Damn, that's gonna make like, every Flash user's life an infinite times easier. Decent swf converters are the hardest programs to find. xD

It looks much sweeter than on the YouTubez! You go, girl! Looks really sweet. Is it just me or is the grass slightly spazzing, though?

haha Yes, YouTube + After Effects compression = Obliterated quality. I'm glad I found that out now, instead of on a more important animation. :'D
Thanks! Also, the grass is spazzy because I used a feature that allows you to animate to the waveform/sound levels of the music. So when the song goes a lil crazy, so does the grass. xP
