Guarding Family

I had tonnes of fun with this drawing. Stayed up 'till 3am working on this (what am I doing to myself?), discovered the Deco Tool in Flash and experimented/flooded this drawing with millions of gradients in an attempt to create as nice of a drawing as possible. haha : D

I've been moving my old pNPC characters from a previous OCT into the PMD-E universe. I knew I wanted an Espeon and an Umbreon personal NPCs for a long time, but I could never find a spot in my PMD-E storyline for them. At least, not until I decided to transfer my characters. Dallis (Umbreon/Older Brother) and Chel (Espeon/Baby Sister) seemed to match these Pokemon well, and I'm pretty happy with the designs. I never developed their backstories much other than for the fact that they're working for a "villain" pNPC because that villain saved Chel's life and the pair are now in his debt.

It's funny, even though these are old characters, and are from a completely different universe, story-wise, this is actually the first time these guys are introduced to the public. LOL I was keeping them pretty secret in the past simply because they didn't have an opportunity to show up in any story. Then the OCT died, so they never got their official debut. :'c I might draw what they originally looked like on another date...probably not though, since they looked pretty much exactly like this but half human, half gryphon-humanoid and their masks had little beaks on them.

Also, a design note: Dallis' other eye is completely gone. That half of his face is scarred badly and that's partially the reason why he wears the mask. Chel isn't scarred like that, so don't worry.

I'm thinking that these two are mercenaries of sorts, but more ninja-y, if that makes any sense? xD Anyways, I won't have to worry about these characters showing up in the storyline for quite some time, as I still have yet to actually make the App of the team these guys are pNPCs of. So this is sort of a preview of what's to come.

I also wanted to post something that wasn't super-simple in colouring (the task entries) and decided to work on something a bit more polished. I like posting something nice after filling my gallery with simple work, just as a reminder to everyone (and myself) that I can make more refined artwork. I'd love to be able to get my Mission 8 comic to this quality, but I doubt that'd happen since I'm a major procrastinator and this is also my last month of college, so I have important projects due at the end of this month. xwx
